This was the first look at the car. I had previously only been able to see it covered with stuff in a barn

The avocado trees in the back are on an orchard where I bought the car in Temecula

The rear bumper had a nasty dent and the top had a hole in it

First day of disassembly. Rear bumper and Pontiac plate were first off. You can see the original yellow now

This is a decal showing that Pontiac won the 1965 Motor Trend Car of the Year. This one is on the driver's side windwing.

Trunk floor didn't look too bad, just some surface rust

Interior. Sport steering wheeel was almost white from use

Top of back seat had been used as a source of material for the mice bed

Most of the options are still intect including the AM/FM radio

Hood pad removed. Mice had used this and rear seat for beding

Hood and front fenders removed. Wiring had been compromised

Grill removed. Note the asphalt panels that route air into radiator

This the the circuit breaker for the accessories. Someone had spent a lot of time trying to get the power seat to work.

There was a significant knock but the engine was recently overhauled based upon comments from two owners back

Everything looked pretty clean

Heads off, everything still looks ok, but taking out the valves we find each one has been ground to a different height to adjust the valve lash
