As some of you know I had already been using the short block with a different top end when I decided to add the blower. S o this 474 was not really built to handle the horsepower the 871 blower is capable of producing.  So I have to be conservative since this is only a 2 bolt main with no block filler, and stock 6H heads. You might notice that I don't have a lifter bore brace either. That's because I'm only running a solid flat tappet cam with about .525 lift.

I've run a best of 10.73 at 124mph at Speedworld in April this year but grenaded my converter on that pass. I went a 128mph on the pass before but my time was way off as the car didn't hook on take off.

This type of blower also TAKES about 100 horsepower at 6,000 rpm to run, so I lose some good horsepower under load.

I was hoping to have my heads ported before the racing starts up next January but it's looking like I'll be running the way I am right now. Keeping my fingers crossed for the big bonus

The pictures are below, just click on them for a larger view. One is with the spacer installed on the intake and the next one has the blower sitting on top

One has the carbs mounted and the next was the with the hilborn scoop that I ran when I first put the set up together. I later changed the scoop to the "Shotgun" that Speedway Motors sells.
